Headset for wireless applications

The t.bone HC 444 TWS is a headset that is designed for wireless applications and primarily intended for use with the t.bone TWS16 wireless link. Its secure fit keeps it steady even during energetic head movements, making it suitable for drummers, guitarists, fitness trainers, and other active applications. The headset features a high-quality condenser microphone capsule for clear and reliable transmission of both speech and vocals. Its polar pattern helps reduce sound arriving from behind, while its strong resistance to feedback supports consistent performance in a variety of settings.

Eliminates background noise

The t.bone HC 444 TWS connects to the corresponding wireless transmitter via a 115cm cable with an AKG-compatible mini-XLR connector. As a condenser microphone, it requires phantom power, which is supplied directly by the wireless transmitter, while its cardioid polar pattern focuses on speech from the front and helps prevent background music and ambient noise from leaking into the signal. The supplied foam windscreen further reduces wind noise during outdoor use and helps protect the microphone against moisture. Altogether, the HC 444 TWS headset provides a practical combination of secure connectivity, focused sound capture, and reliable protection for everyday wireless applications.

For vocals and speech

The t.bone HC 444 TWS is designed for voice applications where unrestricted arm movement is important, which makes it suitable for trade fairs, conferences, theatre performances, readings, and group fitness classes. It can also be used effectively for backing vocals, while its wireless capability provides additional freedom of movement without a cable getting in the way during use. The wireless transmitter can be clipped securely to a pair of trousers, with the cable routed discreetly under clothing so that it remains unobtrusive. It should also be noted that, when using the headset with a cable, an additional adapter for phantom power is required.

About the t.bone

Since 1994, the t.bone has been one of Thomann's in-house brands, and its name can be found on devices such as headphones, wireless systems, in-ear equipment, and various microphones and matching accessories. "the t.bone" products are made exclusively by renowned companies who also manufacture products for other well-known brands. This provides a clear advantage: Brand-quality products at very reasonable prices. And word gets around: One in seven Thomann customers has already bought at least one product from the t.bone.

Finding the perfect position

The t.bone HC 444 TWS can be adjusted to the wearer's head size using a simple hook-and-loop fastening system, while two sturdy retaining clips help keep the headset securely in place around the ears. Its flexible gooseneck allows the microphone position to be adjusted for a comfortable and consistent fit. For clear sound with reduced plosives, sibilants, and breathing noises, the microphone should be positioned close to the corner of the mouth, at approximately a thumb's width away. Those with a more powerful voice can in turn position it slightly below the corner of the mouth to achieve a balanced sound.

Perfect for Fitness-Instructors
Jan2888 02.06.2014
I bought this microphone for my work as a professional fitness instructor in a mid-size gym and there is absolutely nothing I can complain about.
The microphone fits perfectly to my head, and with some small adjustments, also to all my colleagues' heads. Four of us are actually using this mic on an everyday base for about a year now, and we all agree that this one is a very good replacement for the original AKG, we had before. Not to mention our boss, who is happy about the price. ;-)
We had a headset mic in the style of the t.bone 500 also, but we returned it, because of its bad fit.
Coming to audio quality, I don't feel myself able to judge this mic, because audio quality isn't what I'm looking for. In fact, a megaphone would also be ok, if it wouldn't be so unhandy. ;-)
Finally, I am very happy with my microphone and definitely recommend it to everybody, who is in a similar job or position as me.

A
Decent all rounder.

Bought this as a mic for the drummer. Makes you look like Britney Spears but works fine. He doesn't sing much apart from a bit of backing vocal and getting the audience involved (Hep!!) so it works fine for this. Wouldn't recommend it as a main vocal mic.

Pros: light weight and easy to set up. Good price point.

Cons: Not very comfortable to wear, lots of POP off the mic if the wind shield is removed (you look like Britney Spears if it's left on so..). Muddy sounding vocals from it, needs a lot of EQ.

Overall: Good for backing vocal or with a bit of EQ I could see it being used for presentations by lecturers or teachers. Good price.

Very good for any use really. Used it for recording, gigging and messing around at home.
Like the way you can use a mic, without really having to stick your face into it. It's just there all the time.
Dislikes.... none that come to mind. I'd recommend it.

C
Good but noisy...

A good headset, but lots of noise from the over-ear plastics, could do with foam piping...sound quality is actually quite good for this price point, works well with my AKG mini pro wireless... finally, a longer gooseneck flexy would be a bonus... otherwise, hard to fault ..
