I bought the philosopher's tone 2 after trying out a few compressors and I was blown away by the tones I can get from this pedal, it is so dynamic and adjustable , tweakable but without a bad sound on it. I especially like that it runs off a 9 volt supply, has switchable silicon / germanium and the grit function is footswitchable.

Después de cuatro compresores caros pero que no me encajan bien,por fin doy con el filósofo este que conjuga muy bien la compresión y una especie de distorsión si la quieres o solo compresión con un magnífico sustain,dos modos de sonido Germanio o silicona por interruptor, que agrega distintos tonos y sonido,esté pedal siempre suena bien,o magnífico como lo pongas,eso si quiere sobresalir en sonido o mezcla para eso trae un pote de mezcla muy útil, otro que proporciona un sonido gordo y apretado al gusto con sostenido,y mucho más,grandísima compra y el precio inmejorable, y para los incrédulos, por estar hecho en china gracias a china por estos pedales, tambien gracias a Thomas por hacernos la vida más fácil a los músicos, gracias.

Passabler optischer Komp mit passablem Low Gain Drive

Als always-on Pedal macht sich der Pigtronix Philosopher's Tone 2 für entsprechende Stile und Techniken ganz gut. Für gelegentliches zu- und abschalten taugt er eigentlich nicht, weil er sehr lange braucht, bis er eine halbwegs stabile Kompression liefert. Erinnert an einen Amp, bei dem sich erst die Kondensatoren aufladen müssen. Nach dem Einschalten lässt er häufig ganz kurz den vollen Attack durch, bevor er zuschnappt, und erst mal stark runterdrückt. Nach 1-2 Sekunden wird's dann wieder bisschen lauter, und ab dann läuft die Kompression erst stabil. Mit dem Clean Blend Regler lässt sich das nur sehr bedingt kaschieren. Der nachgeschaltete Overdrive macht auch nur bedingt Sinn, weil er den Lautestärkepegel stark anhebt. Der lässt sich für mich eigentlich nur als Dirty Boost vor anderen Zerren nutzen, oder halt eben always-on.
Alles in allem wie optische Kompressoren halt sind, langsam, weich, und kaum regelbare Parameter.

Parfait pour ajouter un peu de grain

Je cherchais une pédale d'overdrive et suis par hasard tombé sur ce compresseur qui, peut ajouter du gain.
Je la trouve agréable pour un utilisateur qui comme moi cherchait un subtil ajout de gain.
