On-Stage SB96+

I bought the On-Stage SB96+ with very specific expectations. I wasn't looking for a workhorse that would be moved, adjusted and repositioned all day long in a busy commercial studio. If that is what you need, I would probably recommend investing in a higher-end stand.
For my application, however, it makes perfect sense. I needed a large studio stand that could be set up in one position, hold a fairly heavy microphone securely and then stay there most of the time. For that kind of use, the SB96+ does the job very well.
You can certainly feel that this is not a premium studio stand. The construction and adjustment mechanisms don't have the refinement or confidence of much more expensive professional models. But that has to be considered in relation to the price. I simply couldn't justify spending three times as much on a stand that isn't going to be adjusted or rolled around the studio constantly.
Once assembled and properly positioned, it is stable, practical and perfectly adequate for my needs. The casters are also useful when it occasionally does need to be moved.
So my recommendation depends entirely on the intended use: for heavy daily studio work with constant repositioning, I would look elsewhere. For a home or project studio where the stand will mostly remain set up with a microphone in position, the SB96+ offers a lot of functionality for the money.

Wenn man auf der Suche nach einem guten und funktionellen Mikrofonstativ ist, ergeben sich verschiedenste Ansprüche, Anforderungen und Konfigurationen, die vom Einsatzzweck abhängen.
Schwierig wird das insbesondere in dem Moment, wenn schwere Studiomikrofone sinnvoll, flexibel und sicher getragen werden sollen.
Hier wird die Luft bei "Standard" - Stativen dünn.
Klar, für eine Gesangsaufnahme tut es im Zweifelsfall eine einfache Säule mit Teller, die das Mikro trägt, aber spätestens wenn eine Gitarre mit dem Grosskopferten Mikro, womöglich auch noch Röhrenbeschwert, abgenommen werden soll, oder mit einem aktiven Bändchen wird das zum Problem.
Das On Stage wird den verschiedensten Anforderungen gerecht und überzeugt, nicht zuletzt aufgrund des zusätzlichen Miniarms noch durch kleine Erweiterungsmöglichkeiten.
Der Fuss ist gut gestaltet, im Bedarfsfall kann das System getrennt werden, das wird man aber selten tun, da es einfach auf stationären Einsatz ausgelegt ist. Für den Einsatz "on the Road" gibt es sicher einfacherere Kandidaten, zumal man hier den Bedarf selten haben wird.
Die Rollen sind gut, da gibt s nichts dran zu rütteln, werden in den Fuss eingeschraubt.
Das Kontergewicht sorgt für eine gute Ausbalancierung auch schwererer Mikros und kann auch einen Reflection-Sreen noch mittragen, auch hier spielt das Stativ durch Höhe und "Miniboom" Stärken aus.
Die gerasterten Gelenke packen zuverlässig und lassen sich noch fein genug für unterschiedliche Zwecke (Stereobar, Grossmembran gehängt, Grossmembran aufrecht/liegend) einstellen.
Auch der ausziehbare Galgen hilft bei der präzisen Einstellung auf Schallquelle oder Positionierung im Raum.
Ein "einfaches" Teil wie ein Mikrofonstativ hat viele verschiedene Aspekte, die beachtet werden wollen. Hier wurde von OnStage alles, was für den individuellen Einsatz erforderlich ist, bedacht und damit kann ich hier eine klare Kaufempfehlung geben!
Bei dem Preis in jedem Fall: draufgucken!
