Der MXR Super BadAss Distortion macht was er soll. Ist gut einstellbar durch den drei-Band-EQ und hat ein enorm vielseitige Gain-Stufe, von Sound etwas fetter über Crunch bis Brett. Der Sound bleibt für meine Begriffe immer etwas harsch, was sich im Bandkontext mit zweiter Gitarre gut durchsetzt. Andere Teile, z.b. Mesa Flux Drive, ist da eindeutig 'creamiger', aber im Band-Kontext auch schneller im Mix verschwunden.
Ich spiele den MXR Distortion in ein ORANGE 15 Vollröhren-Amp, und die Kombi ist 1a. Für Overdrive spiele ich den MXR BadAss OD Modified. Regelt man den Distorsion etwas runter und den Overdrive rauf, sind die Sounds sehr ähnlich. So möchte ich es haben, da kann man seinen Rhythmus- und Lead-Sound dann im Band-Kontext und Proberaum sauber fine-tunen am Pedalboard. Klare Empfehlung, Preis geht für mich auch in Ordnung.
