Maybe the best for detuning
Since one of the bands I'm in decided to start down tuning for certain songs, I've been on a quest for a better high tension bass string. I've tried the Dunlop Heavy core string, which I like a lot, but they seem to have been discontinued.
So now the Lo Riders from DR are on my bass. I must say, I'm not disappointed. The E-string, which is always the most difficult string to get tight, feels amazing. The overall tension is great, the sound is 'growl for days', and they feel great too.
My quest for my favorite high tension bass string is not over yet, but these sound pretty good so far.

My go to for recording
I usually use Elixirs for gigging and practice as they last for a longest time, but when recording, I always put a fresh pair of lo riders. They sound great, punchy, very clear and because of the hex architecure, the tension is greater, they dont flap around.
Solid strings for sure.
