Oh That’s How My Guitar Should Sound!!!!
Rhodeislandshred 27.03.2026
I’d been using a Fishman Aura but I never seemed able to nail how my guitars actually sounded when using a mic as the models are “fixed” and un editable. You have to use the model that is closest if your guitar is not in the model list. Faith guitars aren’t.
After seeing Molly Tuttle use one I decided to buy it and I’m really over the moon that I did.
It’s very easy to train the pedal with a mic and guitar. I have 3 Faith guitars and a Fender classical with a bridge piezo (sounds mehhh) and after the pedal has been trained, each guitar sounds amazing, true to their own character.
In addition, Audio Sprockets, make software updates available which are so incredibly easy to install it’s great. So far the updates have been very useful, updated compression, room ambience, reverb and Wavemap enhancement etc etc. The graphic display is also very user friendly and pretty intuitive, even without looking at the manual I sussed it out 😂🤣😂
I’ve been running mine every day for a year now and I honestly don’t know what I’d do without it.

G
A great step in improving acoustic sound via pick-ups
Garyplaysbanjo 25.04.2024
Really nicely built unit with a great display. It take a little research to learn how to use but the basics are very intuitive and are pretty much plug and play. Worth noting you will get a better result if 1. You have access to a high quality mic, and 2) you pick up is a piezo (not magenetic). All in all, a great pre amp, with the added IR technology and the ability to blend mic and pick up signals if you want to

Unglaubliches Paket !
manoman 14.07.2024

Excellent pedal but slightly outperformed by custom IR
Julien..... 18.06.2026
I'm a folk/acoustic guitar player using a Martin OMJM, a Gibson J-45, and a Taylor 418e-R. My priority is getting a sound as close as possible to the natural acoustic tone of the guitar.

The ToneDexter II is genuinely impressive and does exactly what it promises. It significantly improves the piezo sound and brings it much closer to a miked tone.

However, after extensive comparison with my own custom QuackKiller IR solution, I found the QuackKiller IR slightly more accurate and natural on all three of my guitars. The ToneDexter is a bit louder, but the QuackKiller simply sounds closer to the real instrument to my ears. This was true both when loading the IR into my NUX Optima Air and directly into the ToneDexter itself.

For this reason, I’ve decided to send the ToneDexter back. Not because it’s a bad product — it’s actually very good — but because for my specific needs and guitars, a solution that costs about 600 € less delivers a result that is (to me) perceptibly closer to the natural sound of my instruments.

Note: I am the founder of QuackKiller, so there is an obvious conflict of interest. I disclose this openly for full transparency. I still believe the ToneDexter II is an excellent tool for many players, but in my case, the custom IR approach proved superior.
